Page Tidy: PDF Scanner
Page Tidy privacy
Updated 5 October 2026
This policy describes Page Tidy’s local scanning and optional backup features. Final app release configuration remains to be verified.
Page Tidy: PDF Scanner is made by Eternal Academy. This page explains how the app handles your scans. For privacy questions, email contact@eternalacademy.com.
Your scans are processed on your device
Captured or imported pages, original images, edit recipes, previews, document metadata and PDFs are kept in Page Tidy’s private on-device storage. Original captures are preserved for non-destructive crop, perspective, rotation and enhancement changes.
Core capture, correction, batch review, PDF creation and Library access work without an account, upload, model download or network connection. Page Tidy does not add advertising, analytics, tracking, document telemetry, a developer-operated server or a remote scanning account. OCR is not included in this version.
The private scan library and recovery-key staging are excluded from operating-system backup. Do not rely on a phone backup to recover your editable library or code; keep a separate Page Tidy backup and recovery code.
Sharing and saving copies are your choice
A document leaves private app storage when you choose Share, Save a copy, Save a backup or explicitly enable an available automatic backup provider. Share and Save a copy send a readable PDF to the destination you select. Page Tidy’s backup encryption does not encrypt those ordinary PDF exports.
A recipient, app or file provider you choose may store or transfer the copy, including through a cloud service, under its own privacy terms and network settings. Page Tidy does not operate that destination or automatically remove its copies.
Encrypted portable backups
Save a backup encrypts your complete editable library on device before opening the system file picker. Originals, recipes, metadata, PDFs, folders, defaults, Trash and committed drafts are included. Public archive identifiers and encrypted object sizes remain visible; document contents are encrypted.
Restore a backup reads the file you select and needs its separately saved recovery code. Selecting a portable archive does not authorize an account or enable automatic uploads. Restore adds recovered items after validation and your confirmation.
The code is not included in the archive. Its local copy is protected using iOS Keychain or Android Keystore and excluded from system backup. Eternal Academy has no copy of the recovery code and cannot unlock an archive for you. Losing every copy of the code prevents recovery; a new code cannot unlock older archives.
Optional provider backups and account data
Google Drive and iCloud Drive adapters are disabled by default and require approved release configuration. Only a provider available in your build can connect. Scanning remains usable without either provider. No claim of verified off-device protection is made before release recovery checks.
If available, automatic backup requires explicit consent to include your committed library and future changes, selection of a provider/account and a saved, confirmed external recovery code. Provider browsing for restore is read-only and does not grant upload consent.
- Google Drive: authorization requests access to files created or opened with Page Tidy (
drive.file) and basic account identity. Page Tidy keeps the selected account’s identifier and email in private local journals. The official iOS sign-in SDK also includes basic profile scopes; Page Tidy does not load profile photographs. Native SDKs manage credentials; short-lived tokens are used in memory by the app. - iCloud Drive on iOS: the adapter uses the system Apple account and a dedicated configured archive container. A private local account binding detects changes. The live scan library is not mirrored to iCloud.
Providers receive encrypted archives and can see account-related information, opaque archive/object identifiers, sizes, counts and transfer timing. Recovery codes are never uploaded with archives. Provider SDKs and services also handle identity, security and service information under Google’s privacy policy or Apple’s privacy policy. This is not a blanket “no data collection” claim for those services.
Automatic work runs while the app is open and can resume later. Google Drive requests use an unmetered connection unless you separately allow cellular. iCloud handoff waits for an unmetered connection; after handoff, system iCloud Drive settings control transfer, which can continue after Wi-Fi loss, suspension or app-level disable.
Permissions
Camera access is used for pages you choose to capture. Photo access is used for images you choose to import. System file pickers limit portable backup import/export and PDF saving to destinations you select. Page Tidy does not request broad Android file-system or microphone access.
Android internet and network-state permissions support optional Google backup. Core scanning does not depend on them. Provider authorization is separate from camera and photo permissions; you can continue local scanning without connecting an account.
Deletion and retained copies
Saved scans moved to Trash are locally recoverable for 30 days. Permanent deletion, Trash purge, page removal and draft/edit discard affect local data. Removing the app removes its private local container; it does not remove copies stored elsewhere.
Every complete automatic backup generation is retained. Earlier archives and exports can contain documents you later delete. Disabling backup or disconnecting an account stops future app-managed backup work and clears local connection state as applicable; it does not erase remote generations. iCloud work already handed to the system may continue.
Use Backups → Manage remote storage for provider controls. Disable backup on all devices and preserve archives and their recovery codes before deleting remote copies. Other enabled devices can create new backups. Also manage any copies held by recipients or file providers yourself.
When you contact support
If you email Eternal Academy, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send so we can respond to your request. Email travels through your and our email providers. Avoid sending document images or text, titles, filenames, paths, recovery codes, credentials or device identifiers. Use a synthetic test page for any screenshot.
